Ceramic coatings

Aluminium oxide Al₂O₃, titanium oxide TiO2 and chromium oxide Cr₂O₃ are particularly suitable for wear protection. Zirconium oxide ZrO₂ is very good for improving thermal resistance.
Aluminium oxide Al₂O₃ can also be used for improving electrical insulation.
